It will soon be a year since we started making bespoke straps from ostrich leg and they’ve become very popular. Last month they even outsold our Tuscan leather straps. What we really like about ostrich leg is that it has a surface finish similar to aligator or lizard, but it doesn’t come with the same ethical consideration as these other exotic skins.

Ostrich is sustainable and has been farmed in Europe since the 1990s. It all started in the Netherlands, where the birds have become a staple feature of the countryside. By embracing agritourism, small family farms now offer guided tours where visitors can learn about the world’s largest birds, as well as buy their produce, ranging from healthy meat to small leather goods.

Our ostrich straps are striking to the eye and as the scales vary across the leg, every piece we make is truly unique. After we receive your order, we’ll send you a picture of the strap template laid out on the leather to ensure that your happy with the cut before we proceed with the making process.

If you’re on the lookout for an exotic leather strap, we urge you to consider one of ours made from ostrich leg. Not only is it sustainable, but it also makes for a bold and beautiful strap. Based on the feedback we’ve recieved from our other clients, we are confident that you won’t be disappointed.
